Only if he could peek N seek
Would he know she is his best keep
He saw her wear a smile,
Saw her cry once in a while,
He lent his ears, lent his shoulder,
N she lit his heart when things got colder.
She grew fond of him, she became his hymn,
She wanted him, he knew that.
She chose him as her sweetheart,
Alas! he had his responsibilities,
that kept them apart.
The distance apart,
tore her heart, his heart.
She did not follow the world,
All she could think were his words.
He would seldom think of her, for he was drowned in work
Time grew on them,
she had learnt to be silent, he learnt to be on autopilot.
Years later, he repent
He knew she was his best keep
Only if he had peeked and seeked.
